Butterfly Cards for any occasion.........

I am not a stamper by any stretch of the imagination, but when I saw the Martha Stewart Butterfly stamps I just knew I had to have them. Wasn't sure what I would do with them, but I absolutley love butterflies so just knew these stamps had to be mine !!!!

Whilst blog surfing, like you do ;o) I came across Regina's blog Hand to Paper and loved the simple fall cards that she had created. This was just the inspiration I needed to do something with my butterfly stamps.

I wanted the design to be simple so that the quality of the stamp shon through. Using various different items, Bazzill basics in Carob (brown), Petty Cash (green) & Tootsie (orange) along with some bright ink pads, basic white cardstock & raffia. This is what I came up with................

Back to School ....................

My DD5 is back to school on Wednesday & we spent the last couple of weeks making a gift for her new teacher. It took alot of patience to create but think we did a great job.

We used 2 embroidery hoops 9" & 12", each crayon was then placed individually & hot glued in place. The apples were made using the Speaking of School Cricut cartridge, page 31 in the handbook using the shift key & shadow feature. The lettering was cut using the Opposites Attract cartridge using the opposite feature & cut @ 1 1/4"

I just hope it lasts the year & the kids don't help themselves to the crayons !!!!! lol..........

I'm Back !!!!

Wow has it really been 3 months since my last confession ( I mean posting), where does time go?

Never the less during my absence I have managed a little crafting, in between the summer holidays, the children going back to school, work, facebook (omg - how easy is that to get sucked into!!) & having breakfast with my friends.

One of my friends at work became a grandma & she asked me to make something for her daughter, so I made a couple of shadow boxes one with baby's details in and the other as a keepsake box. I think they turned out pretty well, the lettering was time consuming but worth it in the end.

More recently I made the children some halloween treat boxes, these were very quick and easy to make using my trusty cricut, tbbm & pddu carts.

I think I will make more of these using christmas designs and papers, to hang on the tree and give as teacher gifts, as I am really pleased with how they turned out.

It's taken me 6 years !!!!

Now that the teacher gifts are made, wrapped & ready to be delivered I have spent the last couple of days scrapbooking. We had these photo's taken when Alex was 10 days old, he went 6 in June !!!!, so for the past 6 years they have been in a box & I thought it was about time they had their moment.

I have looked through countless magazines, scoured the cricut message board for hours at a time looking for some inspiration. I knew that I only needed to use 1 photo per page because the photo's speak for themselves, but I wanted 2 completely different looks.

The "you colour our world" page I found a very similar one on the cricut messageboard, so I have scraplifted her idea (I think she is called Michelle, but I can't get back onto the board to check) and the 2nd page, I saw the folded window in a magazine (not sure which one, as I seem to have read hundreds!!) and then used prima flowers to accent it all.

I am really pleased with how both pages have turned out, just sorry it took me 6 years to get there !!!!!

Where does time go !!!

Can you believe it, it's been over a week since my last posting. We have had such a busy week though, what with work, 2 school sports days, boys brigade sports day, MRI scans (another story!), the cricut messageboard, as well as all the everyday things that us busy mum's have to do. It's not suprising that I haven't had chance to pop by for a chat.

Never mind I'm here now and in and amongst all the sport (OMG I ran the mums race !!!, that's a whole other story though, & one that I probably won't be sharing lol!!!) & everything else I have managed a couple of craft projects.

I have made a little tag album using my sizzix, which I will probably give my neice for her 16th birthday (ohh to be 16 again!!!) and the other project is called a Finnish Star, one of the ladies at my local crop sent me the link ( www.craftideas.info/html/finnish_star.html ), and with one sheet of double sided 12 x 12 paper you can create this master piece. It took a little time but I am really pleased with the end result. I think these would make brilliant christmas (ohhh that word again!!) decorations as well, using the right coloured papers, but I suppose that will be here before we know it. Like I said in my title, Where does time go !!!
